CIB AGM and public rally CANCELLED for 2020

CIB’s Annual General Meeting and Public Rally is normally held in April, but this year had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We informed our members and website readers at the time that we had provisionally re-arranged both the AGM and the public rally for 11th July. However, with the situation still so uncertain we have taken the difficult decision to CANCEL the 2020 AGM and public rally altogether. Please be sure to delete the July date from your diary.
Many organisations have cancelled meetings as far ahead as October – even the Bavarian Oktoberfest. So the German maltsters and brewers will be having a quiet time! The British Government’s Chief Medical Officer has warned that restrictions will need to continue in force even after the present lockdown has been relaxed. He said it is unlikely that any effective vaccine against COVID-19 will be available this year. We will convene a meeting when we are sure that members will feel safe and confident to attend.
In place of an AGM, members will shortly receive by post a report of the Campaign’s affairs for 2019, which contains all the information that would normally be presented at the AGM. We are pleased to say that our affairs and finances are all in good order, and members are invited to send any questions or suggestions to the Hon. Secretary (contact details are in the postal report). We will do our best to answer them.
